Parkinson’s Disease Exercise Guidelines
A one-day course for fitness and allied health professionals who want to deliver safe, effective exercise for people with Parkinson’s.
About the course
Our coaches make a real difference, helping people with Parkinson’s to fight back. This standalone course gives fitness and allied health professionals the knowledge, experience and ongoing support to deliver exercise sessions for people with Parkinson’s and related conditions.
If you’ve completed Counterpunch by Shane Cameron, adding this course also makes you a certified Counterpunch Parkinson’s Coach. Certified coaches are invited to join our national affiliate network and offer Counterpunch Parkinson’s programs in their local community.
What to expect
Run in a gym and classroom setting, you’ll learn about the different types of Parkinson’s and how symptoms can differ, the effects medication can have on your participants, and how to spot and address the difficulties your clients face.
We finish with an interactive session where you’ll talk with members who are living with Parkinson’s and think about how to apply what you’ve learned.
